Testosterone Support & FAQs
Everything You Need to Know About Your Testosterone Cypionate Pre-Filled Syringes
What Is This Medication Used For?
This medication is used to treat low testosterone levels in men who have been diagnosed with hypogonadism. It may also be used off-label in women to treat certain forms of sexual dysfunction. “Off-label” means the medication is being prescribed for a use not specifically approved by the FDA in the product’s official labeling. Your healthcare provider may prescribe it for other reasons—talk with your doctor if you have any questions.
What Medication Am I Receiving?
You are receiving Testosterone Cypionate Injection, USP (200 mg/mL) in pre-filled syringes prepared specifically for your prescribed dose.
Each 1 mL contains:
Testosterone Cypionate, USP – 200 mg
Benzyl Benzoate, USP – 0.2 mL
Benzyl Alcohol, USP – 9.45 mg (preservative)
Cottonseed Oil, USP – 560 mg
This medication is compounded in a sterile, hazardous cleanroom following all USP <797>/<800> standards.
How Do I Take This Medication?
Administer only by intramuscular (IM) injection.
Do not use intravenously or by any other route than prescribed.
Never share syringes or needles with anyone.
If you are unsure how to inject your medication, contact the pharmacy for instructions.

Additional guidelines:
• Keep away from direct heat and sunlight
• Do not refrigerate or freeze

Your experience may vary—discuss expectations and labs with your provider.

Do NOT double dose.
Contact your provider for guidance if needed.

How Do I Safely Dispose of Used Syringes and Needles?
Used syringes and needles must be placed into an approved sharps container or a suitable alternative. Ensure each syringe is completely empty and the needle cap is securely placed back on before disposal.
If you do not have a sharps container, you may use a heavy-duty, puncture-resistant plastic container such as a laundry detergent bottle, bleach bottle, or other thick plastic jug with a tight, screw-on lid. Clearly label the container “SHARPS – DO NOT RECYCLE” and seal the lid with strong tape once full.
The sealed container can then be taken to your doctor’s office or an authorized sharps or drug take-back location in your state for proper disposal. Do not place used needles or syringes in household trash or recycling, and do not flush unused testosterone.
If you have unused testosterone and cannot take it to a drug take-back location, render it unusable by mixing it with dirt, cat litter, or used coffee grounds before discarding it, or contact the pharmacy for assistance.
What Should I Do If My Medication Is Crystallized or Cloudy?
When Testosterone Cypionate is exposed to temperatures below 68°F, it may crystallize or appear cloudy. Do not inject the medication until the crystallization has fully dissolved.
Per the manufacturer’s guidelines, Testosterone Cypionate will return to a clear solution by either:
• Placing the medication in a warm room (above 70°F) until all crystals dissolve
• OR placing the syringes in a sealed plastic bag (such as a zip-loc) and then placing the sealed bag into hot water
that has reached—but does not exceed—104°F
Using a thermometer to ensure the water temperature is correct is strongly recommended.
If these steps do not resolve the crystallization, contact the pharmacist for further instructions. Do not inject crystallized or cloudy testosterone.
What Should I Do If My Medication Is Discolored?
If you notice any discoloration in your syringe, do not use the medication. Contact the pharmacist or your doctor for further instructions.
